Wishing you all a blessed solstice, as we come to the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and winter solstice in the Southern.
I always find myself reflecting in these times on my personal inner journey, and how it feels connected to the cycles of the seasons. Each one feels like a deepening, as I and all those learning from life, deepen in our understanding, absorbing the lessons of the last 3 months.
The light of midsummer is a powerful reminder of the Source as the great origin and return destination of all beings—that great goal shining upon us. The darkness of midwinter is a reminder of the darkness each of us carry within, yet containing the hope of spiritual renewal if we can overcome and learn from it wisely.
Here are the quick links to the videos I have done (with the help of the team at the publisher) on the spiritual meaning of both the summer solstice and winter solstice.
An update on what we’re working on: Mark and I are continuing to finish the large re-write of our book Ancient Solstice. I’ve also begun working on an update to my book The Ancient Religion of the Sun; right now I am re-writing the chapter about Jesus and his connection to the religion of the sun with a lot of new information. Then we plan to move on to completing three new books. One of them will be large, but is mostly written already. It will be followed by two small books. Once these are done, our work on books will be largely complete, and I plan to focus on videos.
There is also a small team working in the background on the religionofthesun.com website, which is going to get a big update.
Thank you as always for your continued support, we couldn’t do any of this without it.
Blessed solstice
Hi Everyone,
Sharing my insights/discoveries/understanding on these topics.
Chakras – energy vortices attributed to another aspect of our multilayered existence or multi-dimensionality. They can respond to frequencies/sound such as matras and can spin faster or slower in a particular direction depending on our intentions/alignment (eg working towards consciousness/the light). I was shown this years ago in the astral. My own ‘body’ (astral/ aethereal) was used to demonstrate this. I was gradually becoming lucid and the dream was falling away to reveal myself in the astral and looking at my own body. I could feel a particular chakra or energy vortex spinning in a particular direction and at a particular speed. As I became more lucid/clear, I started to question: What is it? Why is it spinning this way? What does it mean? I could still feel it spinning in a particular direction even though the dream had fallen away. In an instant, this insight came to me, that it was spinning in the wrong direction, because it had been under the influence of lower states/energies/dream images/illusions. I then put my focus and willpower into changing the direction of the spin, even saying to myself “this is the wrong way, spin the other way” and felt my hand going into it to change the direction of the spin. When I pulled my hand away, it was still spinning in that changed direction and this coincided with the degree of clarity that I was able to maintain for a little while before coming into my physical body and still feeling that energy source spinning.
Heart– I agree with the comments posted so far on this topic. I have found it to be a wonderful, inward-focused space to be in. I have had varying experiences with the heart, based on the focus I’ve had. I have been able to focus on the heart beats, feel them grow stronger and take over my whole body and allow me to split into the astral. I have focused on my heart to allow myself to feel calm, reassured and a warmth radiating from it. I have allowed it to guide my decisions and life choices, to a better outcome and leading to greater understanding because of it. I have made a little saying to remind me about the heart being the way of compassion or of life (like Jesus taught) which goes like this – ‘never let my/your mind poison my/your heart’. What I mean by this is – never let thoughts (egos, ill intentions, ill-meaning feelings) smother or interfere with my connection to the heart or the divine guidance that comes from that space. There have been times I’ve had to pause, to ‘check in’ with my heart centre to determine or discern what steps I have to take next.
I have also noticed that the heart centre is aligned with the Sun, but so is another part of me. As I stand before the sun, allowing it to shine over me, I notice that my heart pulses/reverberates to its beams of light and that another part of my body does something too. I find that a deep part in my brain feels like it is being energised at the same time, allowing my focus and concentration to remain solid at that point in time. It’s as though this part of my body, housed in my brain is switching on or becoming more alive and aligned in unison with my heart.
You each describe such parallels that I seem to go through also – Lucia, Marco, Emily, Julian – days when I get distracted, feel a sadness (and absence or disconnect almost), become consumed by the mundane, etc. I also put focus on the importance of connecting to the heart routinely or as often as I can, with the aim of increasing efforts towards spiritual insights and understanding. I miss its connection if I neglect it and I find that it can become ‘numbed up’ or muffled out by the intellectual daily grind/living.
Tina, I’d love for the opportunity to do a collective focus again…individual efforts also required as we all know also!
Thank you for sharing Dimi. The spinning in the wrong direction is something I was not aware of, and it certainly seems worth investigating. It has also been my observation that making an effort to move the focus and awareness to the heart area can indeed be very helpful in shaking off the lethargy of hypotonic mental chatter. It is truly wonderful that you can feel the positive and uplifting impact of sunlight on your inner state.
It would surely be an incredibly uplifting and divinely breathtaking experience to one day stand before the Spiritual Sun and experience even a tiny degree of its true nature. Perhaps this could be something for a collective focus?
I’m for the idea you propose Slawek – are others are open to it too…?
Yes, I’m in. I’m wondering what approach to take? Since I’ve been thinking about the heart due to our discussions of late, I’m thinking a heart practice, at least for night time. I’m going to make more of an effort to show up for sunrise (it’s early!) and at least sunset.
I’m in too, thanks for the initiative. I had a little breakthrough recently when I did a heart practice, then had some time just lazing around in the sun observing my thoughts and praying. I was quite moved at how much my energy shifted from these two small efforts to connect to my heart and the sun.
Maybe for a lunar month, since it’s a new moon?
That’s an interesting experience you had with the energy centers, Dimi. I have learned that the heart is connected to the Mother in vedic tradition and so for me when I focus on my heart in daily practice i feel that constant connection to the Great Mother and as you said the compassion seems to be growing in that way. And the Sun is also an aspect of a Father and as we know the Mother and the Father work together.
It seems this blog is like a big bowl of spiritual food and the contents of it serves to align/realign our goals and strengthen and deepen our focus and understanding. I feel everyone is taking and giving what they need/feel at this time and maybe some are going through things that need attention and so they need to be in that place first before coming to this one here – like a group focus.
On the other hand, its about a month before the equinox time and so it could be beneficial for those who are inspired/ready to strengthen their focus on something that will bring them closer to the source – the Spiritual Sun to join in the group force. I like your idea, Slawek, to stand before the Spiritual Sun. Perhaps to investigate what does it feel like. I imagine this could be done as an astral practice before going to sleep – visualizing the Spiritual Sun or maybe in meditation visualizing the Source and see what happens. I am definitively inspired to do that and will start today.
Hello everyone!
What are we thinking for that group effort? Equinox is around the corner; it would be nice to charge up a little to receive it in a more suitable fashion. I’ve noticed that when I participate in these group discussions, I get a little uplifting boost. I’m sure these remote group practices will be beneficial for everyone involved.
It seems some people are focusing on the heart – which is nice to see. Others, it seems are more interested in the spiritual sun connection. Either way – i think its good to have that kind of united focus.
I have done the spiritual sun practices and have had some very nice experiences. This was done in a meditation practice where I’d visualized the source or the spiritual sun. A nice interaction ensued where I was shown (among other things) a different angle to my daily practice and how it can be improved by just focusing on alternative way of seeing things. It was like my point of view was refreshed and when put into practice I could see the shift.
It would be nice to hear about people’s experiences so far.
So, I randomly flipped to the page with the heading “Sun Heart”. I’m pretty sure this is what I’m going to settle on. It’s got the heart, it’s got the sun, connection to the source, all the things I’ve been interested in lately. “It was used to absorb the energies of the sun and to travel to it (either while out of the body, or in one’s imagination) and to pay respects to its ruler (the Source/Spiritual Sun).”
My objective will be to connect with the sun in a new, deeper way, one beyond verbal communication/prayer, which already is a lovely practice on its own.
I like the idea of a remote group practice too. It is very challenging to be focused on nurturing this all within, isolated somewhere in the world without that person to person connection with others who have an affinity for this Hopefully one day that will again be a reality. I’m also finding ( for various reasons) it challenging to post comments.
Hi Scott,
I think many of us here can relate to your experiences. I feel commenting here, as Marco had mentioned too and others over the years, supports our efforts in sometimes very specific ways. Often I can feel a very clear surge of supporting energy in my daily practices – like coming back to awareness feels a lot more easier.
In addition to commenting, I would look at all the posts and read through them to see if I could post any comments and oftentimes it happened that I could not relate to what people were discussing about and so would not comment but recently i think things have changed and there are many different topics that are being explored and so I believe many could find something that could be of interest to them. So even if we are alone in that way we can be rewarded and supported to nurture the light within.
Thank you Tina for your thoughtful words & encouragenent, reminding/clarifying for me that working within & helping others here spiritually are keys to progressing/evolving.In doing so connecting with the natural universal principles of giving & recieving, albeit in a much more confined way currently. I’ll do my best to combat this entropy, these interferences & make extra efforts to be contributing here where apropriate.👍🙂
I have thought how good it would be to start an autumn equinox effort 9 days before the actual day. I remember this being written about in one of the books, I believe. The nine days symbolise the 9 layers of the underworld. If the equinox is on the 22nd, that would mean starting on the 14th, if the 22nd is counted as day 9. Maybe starting on the 13th is better, but I’m not sure. That gives about ten days to get a plan between whoever wants to participate which seems about right to me… I plan to have a look at the relevant chapters in the books soon to get inspired and some ideas!
Hi all,
Thank you for the ongoing wonderful discussion, which I believe helps us all in our personal inner journeys. Recently, I have started dedicating a little more time each day in an attempt on developing a stronger connection, and hopefully a deeper understanding, of the spiritual nature of the Sun and Divinity. I try that mostly by inwardly addressing the Divinity and the Spiritual Sun. I have also been practicing more often the incantation of the Sun to help me remember it better when it’s needed. At times, pronouncing it inwardly feels somewhat mechanical, while at other times it carries more strength and depth of feeling.
Over the past few weeks, I have experienced brief glimpses of lucidity at night, but last night I was able to attempt several visualisations in the astral upon realising that I was dreaming. One of these visualisations led me to a particular place where, symbolically yet quite explicitly, I was shown what I need to focus on more during my waking hours. I will continue with my daily inner “chatting” to the Spiritual Sun and Divinity, and I will try to make a more dedicated effort with sunrise practices. I also look forward to joining whatever group practice will be decided on.
I wish everyone much joy and also perseverance with developing and strengthening the connection with the Spiritual Sun.
Those are nice and interesting experiences Slawek, Ella and Emily. I am in with whatever people agree on. There are some very challenging things happening in the sky in this month so i feel even more determined to counteract those by some extra efforts.
Hi all, I was exciting to read this thread. I would also be keen to join in the remote group practice. What Ella suggested regarding starting a practice for 9 days before the Equinox sounds inspiring. We could start preparing earlier, but knowing we will prioritize the practices for that 9 days will bring a lot of focus and momentum, while helping us get in tune with the Equinox.
Given that we have people in different hemispheres, would it make sense to set a shared practice structure, but then with each person choosing their aim and practice(s) in a way that makes it meaningful for them (e.g., some connecting with the Source, others may be gaining insight into a particular aspect of themselves or life etc.)? Or, do you think we should align on the same aims and practices? How do you all see it working best?
Hi all, I have been reflecting on my journey and what has and has not worked, and the topic of chakras came into focus. I am wondering what people’s thoughts and perhaps experiences are with the chakras, and whether it is something worthwhile investigating, and whether it would be aligned with the Religion of the Sun. Not sure if this can be answered, but given Lara’s update on the upcoming books, I was also wondering whether there will be anything in them related to the chakras.
I’m not sure if this is relevant, but I feel like my heart is connected to the sun, like it’s a satellite, symbolically “the sun of the body”. I also remember reading about the electric universe theory, how the sun and galaxy are connected through electromagnetic filaments, and separately learning how the way the heart is electrically sensitive and active, it made me think there was a connection there was a connection with the sun like a circuit.
Many sources suggest that we are all connected in ways beyond physical perception, and to actually feel such a connection, especially with the Sun, must be a wonderful state to be in, Julian. What you wrote made me visualise us humans as tiny particles of light orbiting the Great Light of the Spiritual Sun. The matter gets stripped away, and what remains is the Light in its perpetual motion.
As for the chakras, recently I have been experimenting with dedicating some time to becoming aware and perceptive of the regions commonly thought of as the chakras’ locations, and also trying to visualise the Light radiating outwards from those areas, like miniature Suns. I am not sure whether this is coincidental, but there has been an increase in lucid perceptions in the astral, as well as spontaneous pre-split sensations.
Hi Slawek, interesting question, I guess we will see once more practices of the Religion of the Sun are published, based on Lara and Mark’s amazing research and experience. Seeing your question, what came to my mind was: “Are chakras mentioned in any of the oldest texts of the traditions derived from the Religion of the Sun? “ And while we know this concept is very common in Hinduism, some claim that its only a newer addition. I found a really good academic answer on Reddit regarding this, which says that chakras are mentioned in Rig Veda, under the name Cakras. I haven’t checked Rig veda for this, so I don’t know exactly, but the Reddit answer has some interesting points:
https://www.reddit.com/r/occult/comments/7kqkc9/primary_hindu_texts_regarding_chakras/
In any case, just like you, I also feel there is something on it, especially on the heart chakra, and also how we can really feel emotions in the stomach area, or feel “blurry/dizzy from an overactive mind. So my feeling is that there are definitely some kind of “centres” in these areas, which are not just physical. Your intuitive meditation with Light in these areas sounds very nice. I can also feel my heart “humming” when chanting the mantra “Om” or “Aum” long enough. Also, when astral projecting by focusing on my heart, I could at one point (during the transition stage) feel very strong beats in the heart area, almost as if all that centre was moving with the beats, so it seems to me like most likely there is some kind of counterpart to our physical heart on the astral level.
One my friend also told me a long time ago, how she was told in one of her spiritual experiences that heart had “its own brain”. I thought that was interesting, as we know there is something like “wisdom of the heart”.
I can relate to that experience of your friend, Lucia. I somehow feel that we would come to a point in our practice to a stage where the mind as we know it won’t serve us anymore. Through practicing and focusing daily on clarity and the elimination I found that there is another mind – perhaps the mind of the heart (a part where the intuition is active) and that it knows exactly when to act and how to act in any moment. I am really investigating this as it feels really nice and relaxing to just move through the space without thoughts and having that faith that this part of me will do, chose and respond in a most appropriate manner to anything that is happening inside and outside myself.
Julian, is there anything in particular you’ve been doing to get that connection? And has it transferred to your dreams?
Just to clarify, in American English “I feel like” is closer to “I think that” than “I feel”, so when I said I feel like there’s a connection between the heart and the sun, it’s more about what I’ve understood and felt intuitively than a state I remain in ( wouldn’t that be lovely).
Understanding the pattern, however, has certainly changed my dreams and my understanding of them. The heart for guidance, mind for planning, together they provide all we need to find our way. The heart is the compass, the mind the map. A mind with clarity can figure out the way the heart is pointing, and listening to the heart can give a direction to begin walking. We can be like planets that circle the sun, each with our unique path. The analogy holds for the religion of the sun as well, as each person is unique and brings their own perspective and strength.
Just as I read your comment, later on in the day my friend had an experience where she was shown how our heart is related to the energy of the Sun, as Julian had mentioned too.
It was explained to her that the heart is a gravitational centre and that when we work to align our heart then other centres in our system are put in order . Just like the Sun has that influence on the planets in its solar system. They exist and move because of the Sun’s gravitational field.
Thank you Tina for sharing your friend’s experience. It must be inspiring and very uplifting to have experiences like that, in which we are taught spiritual truths about ourselves.
The physical heart is certainly central to our body’s existence, and so it follows that its spiritual aspect must be vital to our spiritual existence as well. Thank you again for sharing Tina.
That’s really interesting Tina, has your friend posted her full experience anywhere? Also, I am guessing she did something correct to align her heart, do you know what she did?
She got that information in relation to what she needs to do to move forward and she got that explanation, i guess, to deepen her understanding. I feel when we understand things on a deeper level we are more inclined to actually do what is required.
On the other hand, it makes a perfect sense to me as we use our heart to do all the three required components of the path. Maybe people are doing it differently but I do the first component by feeling that force coming out of my heart. It’s interesting to point out that often i can actually “see” in others that force coming out of their heart when they are also doing that. The heart being the force as the Sun makes sense also on another level as in vedic tradition the sun represents the atman – the soul or let’s say a fraction of the spiritual source and the heart is the guiding force within that can get us there as it’s the part in us that gets transformed the most.
I agree with you Julian, about when you follow your heart that you get better guidance and that then things fall into place. Many people often get guidance in relation to that – follow your heart and things will be better sort of thing but I feel everyone’s heart is on a different stage of it’s development and so connecting to that part we all go to different places because we all need to be at a specific place first in order to reach to the next. But when the heart is “on it’s way to cleanliness” i think that’s when we can really connect to our own being and then feel as a part of the sun, light, the source.
Nice conversation about the heart. I know it’s the first place I return to when I feel I’ve lost my practice or am wobbly energetically. I came across this wonderful exploration of what the heart really is physically, which I think points to its spiritual power and it being the point of contact between our body and other dimensions (yet by extension, through our blood, our whole body is infused with the heart’s metaphysical power).
I’m not sure if I’ve shared this here before, excuse me if I have! It’s the idea of the heart as a vortex rather than a pump, which infuses our blood and being with a special something. The model explains how you can’t, or wouldn’t bother, having a pump at the fastest flowing part of a waterway and how certain features of the anatomy and physiology of the heart make this impossible, how a pump would be more needed where there is no flow – at the legs in our physical sense. It remodels the whole of the cardiovascular system and explains how the blood moves from our legs more akin to how the sap of a tree rises up a tree trunk. I thought it was a beautiful new way to imagine the heart and helps to put it at the centre of our spirituality and physiology. It also made me confront how even some of the most basic things we think we know, or is settled science, can possibly be wrong.
The idea has been developed by Thomas Cowan, who is a doctor with a special interest in anthroposophy where the idea originates from. It’s endorsed by a top heart surgeon. I think it echoes the Taoist idea of the heart being a place of stillness, a lake.
This is the half hour lecture by Cowan that put me on to the idea. He has a book, Human Heart, Cosmic Heart, which is available on Spotify as an audio book.

That’s so interesting, Ella.
I’ve never heard of that Taoist idea of the heart being a lake. I think it might be quite literal in a way that I cannot understand, actually. The day after I had my OBE to the source, I had another strange experience when meditating on my heart that I’ve never read anything of; I encountered myself contemplating an enormous body of still water with no shore to be seen. I had this 360 vision that’s often described in NDE, which makes me think it might have been an OBE, but I’m not sure. I was seeing this ocean from above, from the sides, from underneath, but at the same time, I was this body of water. This experience was not overwhelming or confusing (to me), as the source OBE; it was very relaxing, and relaxing might be too little of a word to describe it 😅
I’m going to look into this heart vortex thing. Thank you very much for sharing.
How serendipitous! What an amazing experience, and great timing :)
I really wonder what those “systems” are? Personally speaking, I find it also works on a “life” level, like if you follow your heart, then you’re following the light, and things in life fall into place. I do find that when I’m really following my heart I get better guidance, too, maybe that’s part of the systems? I’ve never really thought of it that way, but it does make some sense.
I think it’s very easy to feel this connection to a degree by just having conversations with the sun, I feel like I get understanding when I do that. I would love to make it more of a powerful, felt thing. Slawek, I’ll try your meditation, it sounds nice.
This discussion made me remember these words from The Flight of the Feathered Serpent”
“My Rabbi also told us of the gradual movement from vigil to vigil, always praying in the secret of a burning heart, because this gradual awakening preceded the death of that which is fleeting, without which there is no eternal life possible. He told us that without this death there is neither love nor regeneration. And he also spoke about what Moses had said to our parents, of that which was inaccessible to us because it is the Kingdom of God and that it was on the surface of the skin, as well as within the skin, even in the most hidden of the bones, and in all of our entrails, but mainly in our heart and in our mouth. And in truth, it is so close to us that perhaps for that very reason we cannot notice it.
But I have found it, and I knew what it was.
And when that happened, I prostrated myself at the feet of my Rabbi, and I said to him: “Rabbi, Rabbi, praised be your name forever and ever.”
And he answered:
“Judas, never forget it, and so it will happen that in time man will also be able to understand it and he will know it and live it, for it will be given to him to penetrate the meaning of I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE.”
From my limited experience, I can attest to it. As I’ve heard Mark say, one realises that “we are not just all part of one humanity but one substance”. I can also attest to what was taught to Tina’s friend. Working on reconnecting with our spiritual center, which I believe lies in our heart, aligns everything else into place. Over time, this center even starts pulling us back to awareness, drifting away from it starts feeling like a catastrophe, so you want to guard it and keep it. I think there’s a great deal of mystery to be uncovered about the spiritual heart. In my limited experience, it has felt like when I learned how to move the joints on the tips of my fingers in middle school. You know that the nerves and muscles exist to move them, but there’s like a disconnect, jaja. Over time, with practice and perseverance, it can be achieved, though.
I firmly believe that the most valuable piece of practice that led me to achieve a good connection with the spiritual heart was awareness and concentration. I think this ultimately makes every practice work. I made a huge deal about being concentrated during the day on one thing and one thing only. This meant when cooking, I was just cooking when eating, I was just eating, when walking, I was just walking, when exercising, I was just exercising; no background music, no background TV, just focusing on the experience I was having, feeling the flavors, heat, cold, water when showering, gravity when walking, smells, everything; my screentime was at an alltime low at about 25 min a day. That was the foundation. From there, I started adding spiritual practices to my schedule, and naturally, I started scheduling all my other activities around my spiritual practices as much as possible because they quickly became the most important thing I could do with my limited time on earth. During this period, it felt like I was living a continuous life 24/7; I was not totally lucid in dreams most of the time, but I could remember the majority of them, and I received spiritual teachings rather often. It felt like spiritual beings were close most of the time, and my perspective on them changed from kind of a “fan boy”, so to speak, to wanting to be their friend, like when you gain interest in a person and you want to get to know them and how they think and their perspective on life. I would love to hang out with them.
All of this, and much more, was a result of intentionally focusing and nourishing my spiritual heart center. I suspect Intention, paired with imagination, is one of the most powerful creative forces there is. One lesson that I came back from my meditations around that period is that “The source cannot fill a cup that is already filled”; the process of emptying the cup can be scary, but what’s on the other side is beyond words.
Man, I have to get back to what I was doing 😅 Thanks everyone for the reminder, much much need it. Sending a big hug and blessing to everyone out there making efforts to revive The Religion of the Sun, you are all heroes 🙏🏽 My prayers are with you 🌞
I agree, that to establish that connection with the heart it’s important to clean the way for it to be really seen and felt and if I stand still for a moment I can feel that force inside moving like a burning lava. That first quote really resonates with my experience of that practice “… always praying in the secret of a burning heart..” As i said the feeling is like a burning lava but also there is this feeling of a constant insatiable, burning desire of the heart, having its own focus and determination.
Also “..without this death there is neither love or regeneration..” – this deeply cuts through every fiber of my being – that energy of knowing there is nothing without this. And there are moments of falling into the everyday matter and yes the force of the heart pulls me back in.
Dimi, i feel there maybe a newborn focus for the group – away from the chaos into the stillness of the heart!
That sounds like a really nice, spontaneously emerging focus Tina. I have also been “depressed” (not a real depression, but more like a feeling of intense dissatisfaction and sadness about the days that seem to go nowhere, as well as the myriad of small daily duties that take almost all my time and energy) lately, feeling that burning desire for spiritual and yet feeling stuck here, in the life of matter, with its millions of activities. In the same time, I am aware of the fact that maybe its not the activities themselves, but my inner state with its overpowering mind and identification that’s a problem. I have read in the past, that it is possible to somehow just “let my hands, my feet, etc., to work and do whats needed, but not to be internally attached to the activities.” I mean, is it at all possible, on our level here, to be connected and perceive heaven/divine during the day, while our bodies work and move and do whats needed? That’s something I would love to do. To “escape” here, while still seemingly being here and fulfil my duties, but being somewhere else internally.
That book is full of gorgeous wisdom and quotes. I love how, in the last book, we get a chance to see Jesus from Judas’ perspective, like a friend telling the story of his relationship with him. That book has a very special place in my heart.
I feel you, Lucia. I think you should not put all that weight on yourself; we are unfortunately surrounded by a whole planet that’s vibrating very low and a whole societal system that is designed to keep us in an ego-trance-like state with millions upon millions of dollars in the making. I really believe things are going to change for us when the temples of the religion of the sun start emerging, and we can start gathering, being more active spiritually, and generating a counter, a higher vibration to feed ourselves. The fact that we feel like this means that the inner spark is striving for what it needs, and maybe we shouldn’t beat ourselves up too much about it; just do the best we can to push forward. Praying, praying was the key for me, praying and reaching for help to my father and mother constantly throughout the day, minute by minute. We constantly try to remember, but the struggle is real. We can’t forget there’s a war going on, and we’re in the middle of it. We have to keep fighting, we have to keep striving, no matter how bad we think we fail, no matter how poorly we think we are doing, this is not it, this is not over, we are still in it, every second that passes. We cannot lose sight of that. We are warriors of light, and we should feel a righteous pride in that. We have to stand our ground and reach for help. I wish you and everyone reading much strength and help from our divine friends who are always there to help us. At every moment, they are there for us; we just have to do our best to fight the hypnotic effects of agnosia, we have to remember.
God bless us all 🙏🏽
Reading your comment, Lucia, a thought came to my mind about how many people are aware of this mundane existence and how there is something else behind it but they don’t really know what it is and how to break free from it. Perhaps they came across information that could solve this mystery but somehow it doesn’t reach their innermost part, whatever the reason is they don’t recognize it and so they stay stuck in this reality.
On the other hand here we are knowing this secret and not just that, we recognized it as a great tool to break free from this mundane world and yet we can still feel stuck. The word gateway presented to me when reflecting on this and how these activities serve me as such because when i am there with it – concentrated and present a whole new world opens up – maybe this is what you have read about. When sufficient focus and feeling of our own presence in any activity or in any situation of our daily life is deployed over time we can truly live in a magical world although seemingly being here.
I remember a time when i got a job that i really didn’t like and thought – how this has nothing to do with me. Over time I started to realize that I am not here to develop my human self essentially but that i am here to develop my spiritual self and saw this job as a perfect match for me in that sense. So I would say there is this magic and a possibility of connection to the divine in every step of our daily life but that we need to fight to this effect.
Thank you Marco, much appreciated, especially about “praying in every minute”, its very hard indeed.
Thank you for the inspiring comments Marco. I still have no idea how you learned to move the joints of your fingertips though! haha
I believe we have all felt, at different times, the same, Lucia, that days, weeks, years, perhaps even decades go by with no real progress being made. I used to think about it quite a fair bit, and it might all come down to my unrealistic expectation that inner progress can be achieved according to our ideas or wishes. What Tina and Marco wrote resonates with me too, basically, that being in the here and making an effort to ask as much as possible is to align ourselves with the divine will, and then even mundane tasks can become quite… spiritual.
Ultimately, I believe that a more splendid and much superior intelligence gave us our current physical bodies, in these times and on this planet, to acquire the experience we need and to hopefully learn what we must learn. And on top of that, there is the gift of invaluable mystical experiences that have slowly but noticeably helped me to question the usual choices, and to remove or limit some of the selfish and actually silly behaviours, gradually replacing them with sensible and more constructive actions.
Remembering all that gives me faith and strength to face daily challenges and to complete whatever tasks each day presents before me. I am learning to let go of my personal expectations about the timeline in which I am meant to make meaningful progress in my inner work. So what at this stage I feel ultimately remains most important, things that I can keep trying to work on, are remembrance, asking, humility, and gratitude.
As for The Flight of the Feathered Serpent, it certainly remains one of the most inspiring books I have come across, and while reading it, and even afterwards, there was that sense of connection.
One of those useless talents, Owain 😂
It’s my pleasure, Lucia. It so interesting how reading The Good Books changes with our inner state. Gotta love it when you can read it wiht a humorous tone to it.
GLN:15:27 “…If the end is great beyond man’s conception, it is no less true that the task before man is arduous and difficult in the extreme. To master himself and gain complete self-control is no more than the first step along the path.”
GLN:15:28 “Though men may despair because I am veiled from them, though they may seek without finding, I am not indifferent to their needs and desires. Doubt and uncertainty are essential earthly conditions serving a definite end. I have not surrounded men with perplexities and obscurities unnecessarily. The climate of unbelief and materialism, strange though it may seem to men, is best for his spiritual health. I know better than men themselves what is best for them, for I alone can see the broad design spread over the ages, I alone see the end and objective…”
– Book of Gleanings: Chapter Fifteen — The Voice of God
I go back to that book (Flight of the Feathered Serpent) time and time again…
The passages you quote here from The Book of Gleanings reminds me of chapters in The Kolbrin too – chapter 15, The Voice of God and chapter 25 which is in fragments.
Sorry Marco, the Book of Gleanings you refer to is from The Kolbrin – I realised after posting… hee hee (giggle)
No reason to be sorry, Dimi 🙂
Hope you are having a great week.
I’ve seen The Flight of the Feathered Serpent brought up a few times here, so I’d thought I’d share some information I’ve learned about that book while researching into its background. I have already spoken with Lara about this before and we thought that now would be a good time for me to share what I found. I was pretty surprised to discover what I did, and what I’m about to share might be a bit unexpected, but please bear with me.
Like many others I was very inspired by FFS by Armando Cosani. I still appreciate it for what it is, including the very positive impact it had on me back in the day.
That said, I feel that people should know that it is a work of fiction, written with a lot of artistic licence—and I believe with the best of intentions—by Cosani. That’s not a criticism of the book; I just want people to know that is it is not a true historical account, or coming from a spiritual source like Judas, in case anyone is studying it or referring to it on those grounds. Claims of that nature were not made when the book was first published, but were added to it later.
The background to this book is that Cosani was part of the first Fourth Way school in Mexico, which is the system based on Gurdjieff’s teachings that Ouspensky introduced to the English-speaking world. After Ouspensky died, one of his British students, Rodney Collin, went to Mexico to spread this teaching there—although what he believed and advocated did not fall strictly within that system and was broadly described by him as esoteric Christianity.
Armando was among the first members of this group, which formed sometime around 1948. Collin founded a publisher in Mexico (Ediciones Sol) which began releasing Spanish translations of English-language Fourth Way books. This translation work apparently started around 1949. They also published new works, including original works by Collin and the first edition of the FFS by Cosani in 1953.
Armando was also a translator. One of the books he translated from English to Spanish was ‘The New Man’ by Maurice Nicoll, who was a British Fourth way teacher who’d spent time with Gurdjieff and Ouspensky, but took a more Christian direction. In that book Nicoll makes the case, among other things, that Judas must have had the most difficult part to play when it came to enacting the drama of Jesus’ life, and had played his part as he was supposed to do by enabling the betrayal.
Armando also translated ‘A New Model of the Universe’ by Ouspensky which makes the case that Jesus’ life was an enacted drama (although he didn’t share the same positive view of the disciple Judas as Nicoll). In another chapter Ouspensky writes about the Eternal Now, which is a term appearing in FFS. Nicoll also wrote about the now in another book Cosani translated, ‘Living Time’.
In another work Nicoll uses language found elsewhere in FFS. For example, he talks about “I’s” (the preferred term for “egos” in the Fourth Way) sucking one’s blood, meaning energy. We see references to I’s sucking blood in FFS too.
The way the narrator in the first part of FFS meets and interacts with the spiritual figure is somewhat reminiscent of how Ouspensky tells of meeting and interacting with Gurdjieff in his autobiographical book ‘In Search of the Miraculous’. That book was also translated and released by Ediciones Sol too. Another book it released by Ouspensky was ‘The Strange Life of Ivan Osakin’, a work of fiction, in which the protagonist meets a magician. This is a novel that explores Ouspensky’s own ideas about eternal recurrence.
I think Armando was drawing on these kinds of influences, which he was closely familiar with, when he wrote FFS, and weaved spiritual and esoteric ideas which influenced him into it, including a different perspective on Judas.
There may be some autobiographical elements weaved into it too. It seems Armando perhaps did flee political upheaval somewhere in South America to live in Mexico. It looks like he embellished this part of his own life story, using it as a backdrop to convey spiritual ideas and a more elaborate story. It is not uncommon for writers to draw on parts of their own life experience like that when writing a fictional work.
It is also worth keeping in mind, that the first edition of FFS does not directly claim to be a true story or to contain a true account of the life of Judas as far as I can tell—on the cover or blurb for instance. At the same time though, it did not clearly disclaim that the contents were NOT a true account either. It did have a clear link to the Fourth Way though, as Ouspensky is quoted at the beginning, and it was published by a Fourth Way publisher. So its links to that system would have been fairly apparent at the time it was first released. However, that publisher only released one edition, and closed not long after. Future editions were not released by a Fourth Way publisher.
It seems that the direct claim that FFS contained a true account of Judas and Jesus arose within modern Gnosticism, which as a movement grew out of Mexico in the mid-50s, not long after the Spanish editions of Fourth Way books began circulating. It was when this book was later picked up by modern Gnosticism, that the explicit claim that the book contained a real account of Judas began circulating, from what I can tell. Because the story is written in first person narration, it seems to have been taken as a true account. At the same time, it appears the book’s links to the Fourth Way were obscured or just not recognised. So its origins as a book from a Fourth Way publisher would not have been so apparent to anyone coming across it later by this route.
But outside of the Gnostic orbit, the direct claim that the book contained a true account was not made originally, or even now, as far as I can tell. A current Spanish language edition on sale states, in the author bio: “The only known book by Cosani is THE FLIGHT OF THE FEATHERED SERPENT, a work that is the fruit of his studies on the philosophy of the cultures of Pre-Hispanic America and its relationship with the Fourth Way school.”
For the record, I still think the idea that Judas was an advanced disciple who played a difficult role is the right idea (we see this supported by The Gosepl of Judas too); I just don’t think FFS is an actual true historical account of this but a fictional imagining of events written with artistic licence by someone with a background in esotericism.
Given that the book is a largely fictional interpretation of events, and contains a lot of Cosani’s own ideas and interpretations, I don’t think it should be viewed as conveying factual history, or as a spiritual teaching coming from a spiritual authority like Judas himself or anyone of that stature. I personally believe that Armando had some understanding and good intentions, but what he produced was a fictional work at the end of the day, and should not be seen as more than that.
That said, I personally still have some appreciation for FFS as an at times inspiring and engaging work of fiction containing spiritual themes, inspiring passages and moments, as well as various quirks and flaws. I’m just sharing this information because I wouldn’t want anyone to view it as being something it is not.
I personally don’t think there is anything wrong with reading fictional works with discernment that one enjoys and finds inspiring, I just don’t think they should be taken as being more than what they are. I find that fictional works with spiritual themes, whether books or movies, can be quite inspiring in their own way, and I personally appreciate works of that nature taken in their own context. With FFS that context was missing though, which is why I’m sharing this information. We all get to decide what we choose to read at the end of the day, but I personally feel it is important to read with discernment, which includes understanding the context of whatever it is I am reading.
I hope that wasn’t too much to digest! It was quite a lot for me to get my head around when I discovered this, but in the end I’d rather have the truth, and I figured other people would want to know this too.
Thank you Matthew for explaining your research.
Matthew had let me know the connections he’d started to find between the FFS and the Fourth Way quite some time ago now. The close correspondences between things the “mystery” character of the book was meant to have said with earlier Fourth Way teachers was the major tip off to me. We agreed at the time that the FFS was likely to be a fictional work, and decided it was best for Matthew to investigate further, which he did, confirming the fictional nature of the book.
Because it is a modern, fictional work, it is not connected to or part of the ancient Religion of the Sun.
Also, just to mention that I’ve just now skimmed a couple of pages of FFS and there are multiple historical inaccuracies that show it was created based on the four Gospels (not on an independent source), coupled with a flawed understanding of history.
Here is a clear example:
“Strange things this Rabbi [Jesus] used to say, strange things he used to do. But those who loved him used to say at the same time that what he used to teach made the bitter tears of the heart sweet, and that the wise men of Naim, the most learned and pure of this Earth, found in his words hidden treasures of Hillel, and the beauties of the Talmud.”
Jesus can’t have been teaching anything from the Talmud, because the Talmud didn’t start being compiled until after 70 AD, mostly around the 3rd, 4th, and 5th centuries AD https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talmud These texts were written by people who hated Jesus, and describe him as boiling in hot excrement in hell. This and other horrendous “beauties” can be found in it.
Another example:
There is no historical or biblical evidence that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute, as asserted in FFS. The identification of her as a repentant prostitute originated in the 6th century with Pope Gregory I.
On and on it goes, I could list so many things. It even refers to the Passover as Easter…
Thank you for sharing your research on the FFS, Matthew.
I recognize I’ve been referencing it most. I will stop doing so since it’s not part of the ancient Religion of the Sun and has no connection to it.
Wishing everyone a great week.
How interesting, thank you very much Matthew, this is why we need professional journalists! I wonder if you were maybe guided on some level to dive into this, in order to clarify the matter.
I still find it very intriguing though, how this idea that Judas played a difficult role as an advanced disciple came into the fore BEFORE the Gospel of Judas was discovered. From your writing, it looks like the first one to mention this idea was Maurice Nicoll in his book “The New Man”. But whoever was the first, I personally believe that there exist certain “inspired works of fiction”, which may have been inspired by the Divine in order to bring certain ideas to public consciousness (the same is true about dark ideas of course), and therefore its positive in this way. Its still good to keep in mind its fiction as you said, to see its true context, but it does not necessarily mean there is no truth in it. For example one of the scenes in FFS that I found especially touching was how Judas swallowed “the morsel” that blurred his psychology and helped him to carry out the mission. Armando Cossani definitely needs to be given credit for the way he described the events in such a touching way (again, things may have happened differently in real life, but I think still this dramatic description helped people to really feel things deep in their hearts and therefore open themselves to the real spiritual dramas that happened so long ago.)
In any case, this is a very important discovery I think, which helps to put the book in its true context and also to discover historical inaccuracies (as Lara mentioned), which we would not normally search for in the book. It seems Armando Cossani didn’t know much about Talmud or Judaism, otherwise he would not have made those mistakes, and he most likely didn’t know much about other historical facts either, like the case of Mary Magdalene.
Also wanted to say, Marco, don’t feel bad for bringing up the book here again and again, as you can see, its served a good purpose!
Thanks for doing the research, I always wondered about that in the back of my mind. I wish there were more books like it, writing beautiful stories based on a deeper understanding of human nature and spirituality. Some of the more popular books that fill that niche don’t live up to their potential.
Wow. That’s… totally unexpected!
Thank you for sharing this, Matthew. I appreciate you digging into the matter and being thorough in your explanation. While, on one hand, I feel like a little kid who was just told that Santa isn’t real, it is important to know the truth and to not conflate fiction with teachings of the Religion of the Sun. And it’s still a very inspiring book, even if it is fiction.
Incredible information Matthew, thank you for researching so thoroughly and stepping forward. It’s so emotional to feel this heavily dusted veil lifted and to see the truth, uncomfortable as it may be. I like many others have deeply loved this book, but looking at it now, I would have so much more appreciated if it were explicitly written, “this is a fictional book based on the teaching of the Fourth Way.” I don’t doubt that enlightened influences walk among us to help and educate the world, but accuracy and clarity in my opinion, shouldn’t be undervalued, or cast away, at the expense of a better story.
I completely agree with that Olga.
When people aren’t clear about the nature of the information they are presenting, they assume an authority they don’t have, and cause people to listen to their views who otherwise wouldn’t, wasting the time of those who are searching for the truth and who could find it elsewhere.
Also wanted to say that your comment about Talmud left me quite speechless Lara. 😯 Interesting how all this info has not really been widely known for a long time…
So I went and just briefly checked the “hot excrement” thing, and from what I have read so far it looks like there is really a lot of nasty, anti-Jesus rhetoric in Talmud, even though I also learned that its only in one of the Talmuds (there are supposed to be 2), so called Babylonian Talmud. Some people claim, that this Talmud was written in so-called “Dark times”, others say its a misunderstanding and that it didn’t mean Jesus, etc… Apparently, it also states that Mary (Jesus mother) was an adulteress, as they can’t swallow the “virgin birth” narrative.
I guess this reference to Talmud was a very unfortunate one in the FFS, but again, how many people really read Talmud, and even if they do, how many would really understand what it says? (as apparently, it uses a few different names for Jesus there, as this article explains: https://worldeventsandthebible.com/talmud-jesus)
Saying it was written in the “Dark Ages” is just Wikipedia’s way of covering for it. I’ve read enough on Wikipedia now about subjects I have some knowledge of to see how their editors cover things up. The Talmud also contains doing some unmentionable things to children, encouraging consciously lying, seeing other people as animals, etc. These things should be known so people can make a fair assessment of religious texts.
No feeling bad from my side, Lucia, but I appreciate your consideration.
As a matter of fact, I stopped reading it for the most part after I acquired the Kolbrin in September of last year. Such a phenomenal text. There is a part of it where it says something like “If someone is trying to get to York, wouldn’t it be most fruitful to listen to someone who has already been there?”. I suspect Mark has been to York, not because I know it for a fact, but because when he visited me when out of the body, he had a presence and appearance unlike anything I’ve felt or seen before. Also, applying his techniques exactly as they’ve been laid out has yielded results exactly as described, much prefer to heed to someone alive than dead scrolls.
I’m not a historian, and I don’t believe my role is on that front. I admire all of you guys for all of the effort that you have put into piecing up the Ancient Religion of the Sun. Discarding connections to things that don’t belong is only a win in my view.
Peace 🙏🏽
Thank you very much Matthew for sharing your research on the FFS, and thank you Lara for confirming that this book is not connected to, nor is it a part of, the Religion of the Sun. It shows how important it is to stand on one’s own experience and how easily we may believe something if it fits our worldview. I am writing not so much about the way Judas was portrayed in that book, but about the way the content of the book was presented by the author. And if, as Olga wrote, there is a lack of transparency about the nature of the book from the start, then perhaps the quality of its content is also lacking. The outcome of Matthew’s research was quite a surprise to me, but I am also very grateful for this clarification and redirection towards the truth.
Thank you Matthew for finding out and for researching deeper to be more sure.
It doesn’t hit me like it might’ve done years ago, but it’s still a shame to hear in a way, as I’ve also found many elements in the book to have been inspiring. The Gospel of Judas still stands and of course events still occurred in some way, such as them meeting for the first time, and other sacred occurrences. It’s a shame that this story was not actually giving an account of it.
Hi Slawek,
Maybe slightly related to the topic I happened to have a dream yesterday night, quite simple and something raised before. But where I and a few others were directing ourselves towards the sun at sunrise and sunset. Quietly observing/meditating/communicating with it and I could feel that in that — there was an exchange taking place. Bit of an energetic one, one could say.
In terms of chakras. For me in the past when intensely practicing mantras of certain vowels they did result in specific supersensory effects. So it must’ve made some physical or metaphysical part active through its vibration. O/Om for intuitive feeling and general sparkle to consciousness. A to enhance memory ability (for me in conjunction with exercising my memory). ‘I’ on occasion helped to make visualisation look super real and come with ease. An interesting experience I had was with the vowel ‘U’ (as in ‘oe’) where I’d read it related to telepathy and for years I thought that would entail ‘receiving a thought as if instantly knowing’, but actually it wasn’t like that for me. After vocalising ‘U’ intensely, one morning while waking up, I heard a super loud voice saying a message, but I didn’t hear it with my ears. It was like a tune fork inside me had been made to vibrate within my stomach area, it was so loud and like audio.
But to what extent does this link to the concepts on chakras. I think the point was raised some years ago which also made me question the use of chakra concepts for spiritual progress. For me mantras have aided spiritual practice. The concepts of chakras centres never added or helped me with anything tbh. I also never had dreams shown about them. There might well be a truth to it and their activation along the spiritual path, but does knowing concepts about them, or visualising them for example, help. In the way I hear people talk about them nowadays there are also a lot of discrepancies, sounding more like a belief, with certain sensations or experiences felt credited to the chakras.
I’m sure the future books from Mark and Lara will offer great insights into these topics.
Thank you all for sharing your insights, experiences, and understanding about the chakras. The heart seems to be central to many people’s experiences, and it can provide a spiritual anchor in waking life. I recall an experience when I was focusing on my heartbeat during one of those sleepless periods at night. After a while of feeling the heartbeats, I suddenly felt a disk spinning in the heart area, it was rotating quite fast and created a very strong and entirely new sensation for me. There was nothing subtle about this experience, that’s for sure! Normally, when I bring my awareness to the heart area, I feel a subtle sensation that can grow stronger or fade away depending on my focus and it brings with it a sense of spiritual calmness.
I also recall another experience in which, upon calling for spiritual help, I suddenly and completely unexpectedly felt an intense sensation in the solar plexus region. Intuitively, I knew this area was being “charged” by an external force. However, I was startled by it, and the sensation quickly vanished. But afterwards, once I had fallen asleep, I had the clearest astral experience, which lasted quite a while and allowed me to explore things in greater detail than usual. It was as if everything was super sharp, and when looking around, I could see the most intricate, tiny details of anything I focused on.
I will keep investigating this topic, as I feel there is much to be learned about ourselves and our energetic makeup and spiritual senses. What is also encouraging for me is that my recent renewed experimenting with the regions normally associated with the chakras has led to more astral opportunities, which is a very welcome change after being in a spiritual desert for a while.
On a final note, I also feel that the throat region is quite important. Recently, I have had a stronger sense that thinking, and particularly saying out loud, something with ego, no matter how subtle the ego, diminishes spiritual perceptions.
Wishing everyone much willpower and inner strength to follow the spiritual longing emanating from our hearts.
And to you also Slawek…
Those inner yearnings are coming from somewhere and their voice can be muffled by the daily grind, but the battle is in ‘the here and it is now’ as a line in the Flight of the Feathered Serpent says.
Hi Everyone,
I just saw this thread and I may be a little bit late to the discussion, but I think you guys have been right about the heart. There have been times when I do introspection while alone in a quiet place, and from time to time I would feel some kind of energy floating out of my heart. I didn’t think about that too much at first, but now that someone’s mentioned it, I think there may indeed be some truth in you guys’ words. I think it’s interesting that in many cultures the heart is being viewed traditionally as the source of feelings and emotions, and often it was also believed to be the place where one’s soul resides. It wasn’t until modern science came along that told everyone, “Hey, guess what, the heart is not the place where emotions come from, it’s just an organ that pumps blood around the body, the brain is what does all the work” that people began to see the heart less as something that is deeply linked to the human psyche, and all of the attention have been given to the brain instead. I see that being the case even among many spiritual practitioners today, but what many people today seem to forget is the fact that, ancient cultures when they referred to the human mind/the human spirit, they didn’t speak of the brain, they spoke of the heart. I’ve came across a theory before where it suggested that the heart may be at least partially responsible for storing one’s emotions and memories, just like the brain. I don’t remember the name of this theory exactly, but unsurprisingly it has not been widely accepted by the mainstream scientific community. I definitely think the heart, both physical and non-physical, has been overlooked by most living in modern times. If I find the name of that theory, maybe I will be able to share a few links to it here, but I’ve already talked about what I can recall off the top of my head.
How some of you mentioned above, of the sun’s connection to the Atman/soul and how it represents a fraction of the source in the Vedic tradition reminds me of the celebration of a Hindu festival known as Diwali, or the festival of light. On that day many Hindus would light up oil lamps to represent the individual sparks of human souls, or Atman, if I didn’t get it wrong. It seems like an ancient tradition containing profound meanings to me. It is generally understood as the celebration of light over darkness, or knowledge over ignorance. Although I don’t fully understand why it’s celebrated at the end of October, after the fall equinox. That does not seem to be in accordance with the original teachings of the Religion of the Sun, although it could also be considered as a way to celebrate fall harvest, as some cultures do.
It seems like the heart is actually not studied that much in its capacity for intelligence. There is some evidence of it, it has its own set of complex neurons that are not fully understood. For instance, there’s evidence that it syncs with a brain wave states in alpha and theta. There also appears to be activity in the heart before a surprising stimulus reaches conscious awareness in the brain.
I think probably it scientists turned to self-knowledge first, they would add more layers of meaning to the heart, but many scientists are atheists and I think that leaks into the pursuit of scientific knowledge, and is probably what makes it feel dead and cold.
Hi Julian,
I totally agree. The heart has not been well-studied by modern scientists in terms of its connection to intelligence or consciousness, although there is evidence suggestive of such a connection. One explanation I saw for the reason why people in the past associated the heart with the mind or consciousness was because that they could feel their own heartbeat, and they were aware of how the heart was some kind of a weak point on the human body, and thus they must have believed that the heart is the place where the soul resides, given the fact that they didn’t have a thorough understanding of human anatomy. This seems like a common stereotype put upon ancient people to describe them as “dumb and superstitious”, and they didn’t really know how everything worked. But this couldn’t be further away from the truth. I do find one of the biggest problems with modern science and the mainstream academia of our time in general is that they claim to know better than those that came before them, and the general consensus given to ancient cultures is that they were superstitious, they didn’t really understand how the world works because they didn’t have modern science… and most contemporary mainstream researchers are trained in a fashion that requires them to base everything on a materialistic worldview when conducting researches, even if personally they may hold some kind of religious beliefs. Should a researcher bring up a topic involving anything otherworldly or supernatural, he/she could very well be condemned and have their attitude and approach towards professional fields of research questioned. There seems to be some kind of an agenda to this, and the heart’s connection to consciousness seems to be another one of those topics that you just can’t talk about in a mainstream scientific research setting. Many researchers who explore unorthodoxic ideas would eventually leave their position in a mainstream academic institution, should they have worked there in the first place, and become independent researchers. It seems like to me that the wisdom of the ancients have been deliberately discredited by the mainstream scientific community. We were taught to accept this so-called scientific worldview that is materialistic since day 1 in school perhaps, and ancient wisdom has been forgotten by many of us living in this day and age.
So spot on Julian and Emily…!
Speaking of the heart, there is something I do want to share when it comes to my spiritual practices. I think I have mentioned before that I like to harness the energy of the sun at noontime when the sun’s energy is at its peak during the day. What I would do is that I would mediate under sunlight and feel the energy of the sun flowing through my body from head to toe. Usually I would have no problem with that and my experiences with such practices are generally positive. When I do try to concentrate all that energy into my heart though, I would feel a burning sensation within my chest as if my heart could not withstand all the energy that came from the sun. I started doing that after I saw this discussion about the heart here and I decided to try it out. But for some reason that didn’t work out well for me. I’m not sure if I should’ve attempted it in the first place because maybe my heart isn’t ready to receive all that energy from the sun for some reason. Maybe there is something that I need to work on. I think it’s kinda a bizarre experience for me that I cannot quite understand it.
What about trying at sunrise, and visualizing the energy of the sun connecting directly with your heart?
Hi Lara,
I haven’t thought about that. What I do now most of the time at sunrise is that I would bow to the sun and say a prayer, as for doing the solar meditation I thought it would be the best for me to do it around noontime since that’s when I can get the most out of the sun’s energy because it’s at its peak during the day. But visualizing the sun’s energy radiating directly into my heart at sunrise may be a better option since the energy of the sun isn’t that strong in the morning and it’s right above the horizon. Another thing with me is that I tend not to have much of a spare time to do meditation in the morning since I need to get ready for the day and do what I need to do. I found that making a bow and saying a prayer to the sun is much easier. But I’ll see what I can do. Thank you for the recommendation!
Definitely sunrise or early morning works best for me, so that I gradually build up the strength and focus to feel the energy shifts within me. Prayer also helps to get my day started and the right mindset in place.
Greetings everyone.
I didn’t know where else to post this so I figured this was a suitable place as any.
During the Winter Solstice period here in Australia, I randomly found a Hungarian animated film called Feherlofia (Son of the White Mare) which is based on a Hungarian folk tale of the same name.
The story is rich in symbolism including a solar hero who descends into the underworld to defeat dragons. I found it quite extraordinary and worth watching. People often assume that the director of this film was under the influence of Psychedlic drugs due to the strange nature of it, but apparently the director was inspired only by folk stories and his own dreams.
Hi Owain, I watched the animation movie, its really beautifully done! I liked the unusually depicted “dragons”, in the form of contemporary evil, like the dehumanised city-scape, or the tank-like dragon, alluding perhaps to the war-like nature of the egos. There were some elements to the story that I have read before in some other slavic myths, like for example a hero cutting a piece of his own flesh in order to feed the griffin during their journey out of the underworld, or the “treacherous brothers” not pulling the hero out of the underworld, but leaving him there, even though in this case, they didn’t do it on purpose.
Also regarding the description of the movie as “psychedelic”, I think it refers more to the symbolic, colourful, and ever changing and morphing imagery used in the animation, rather than to a real use of some substances. I personally like the art, it reminds me of how scenes and images form and change in dreams, and are not just a meaningless noise, but have substance and meaning. Here is a nice, 6-minute review of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkVNtoJsr00
The whole movie can be rented on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/amzn1.dv.gti.933f4fe1-0890-4c5e-a289-d57208203728?tag=justusqxg9-20&token=ADE07EB7B9E7DB86DEEEF0D5D4FC5F0B5FB44D3F
Hi Lucia,
I’m really glad that you enjoyed the film :)
Thanks for sharing the video review. I reckon he touched on some interesting ideas, however I don’t feel that he discussed the more spiritual symbols shown throughout the film.
I really like how the face of ‘Tree Shaker’ is like a blazing sun and how he is nurtured and guided by his spiritual Mother during his journey.
Thank you, Owain, for sharing your find. The film surely is full of symbolism. Similar to what Lucia wrote, it reminded me of a Slavic myth about twin brothers (Waligora the mountain-roller and Wyrwidab the oak-uprooter), who eventually slayed the dragon, thus saving a kingdom and being rewarded by the king. What I also like is that only occasionally a few words are spoken in the film, and the rest is left for the viewer to interpret by themselves.
Thank you Lara for the solstice wishes and for the update on what you are working on. It is a huge task to revive humanity’s heritage, the invaluable solar knowledge and the experiences of many courageous people who faced and overcame internal and external challenges to acquire it, and who passed it on for others as a guide. Without ongoing efforts, such knowledge is gradually eaten away by time and destroyed by darkness. And so it seems to be on a personal level too, with gradual small gains on the path towards the Spiritual Sun, and falls when efforts diminish.
Thank you everyone for the wishes, inspiring comments, and for sharing your experiences and observations. This solstice has gifted me with increased lucidity at night, as well as a relentless and intensified opposition to being awake and aware.
I wish us all much inner strength and perseverance in continuously reigniting the light within.
I can relate to your insights and experiences, Slawek.
I also found as time goes on i feel im expected to overcome more challenging situations. Its like walking along and there’s a huge something to cross over and once I do that I see another bigger all around. Then trying this way, another way, then it grows somehow and I come to a point of no way I can do this. . A point of total collapse.. then the light quickly finds its way in.
It seems all this is needed to unfold in order to unearth a fraction of an ego state that needs to be dealt with. Then the connection grows stronger and im seeing and experiencing the subtle communication all around me.
I feel humility is found in exactly those places, hidden suffering that is waiting to spread its message.
Hi Tina,
Thank you for your comments. Your description of dealing with hardships and obstacles is very inspiring for me. Being honest with ourselves about our internal states can be a very humbling experience. Whenever I feel that I might be making some progress, I’m usually confronted with an ego state which feels truly insurmountable.
Thank you Lara, Mark and to the teams that make all of this possible, especially the upcoming books.
There is so much hidden information which you are bringing to the light.
All the best…
I really like this emphasis on compassion, Lara. Its beautiful wave is spreading and i can feel how it affects us all. Any action or decision we make it ripples out, as Olga has mentioned too, creating an invisible energy that has the power to support, or not ,the growth of us and others.
I found that when im more compassionate toward myself I am able to extend that to others. And it kind of comes back around and it seems it’s being fed and so it grows stronger.
I see how this energy of compassion is growing in the world also and from what im seeing its source is from above. They are intervening, changing directions and many are responding..
Hi Everyone,
Wasn’t sure where to post this information so putting it here for now. Lara mentioned that more information on Jesus is being added in the new edition of The Ancient Religion of the Sun, which I’m sure we’re all looking forward to, and thought to post this short doco (approx. 13 mins) on the early years of Jesus according to Ethiopian tradition. It is an overview, but it goes on about the formative years of Jesus and how the people of Ethiopia knew him to be of Divine origin. It also presents the Ethiopian bible as having more books (88 of them) and includes the book of Enoch, the infancy gospels or formative years of Jesus.
Here is the link if anyone is interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00B63rij1-E
Thanks Dimi for bringing this up. I heard about the Ethiopian Bible and its many books, will check it out.
Hi Lucia and Akira,
I’ve been looking into this a bit myself, and at times unsure about what I am uncovering – important to find ways to verify content, but can be tricky. For instance, there seems to be a bit of controversy around the Book of Enoch, and its authenticity, that it was not written by Enoch but by someone else with that name. Have you come across this in your research at all?
I know what you mean Akira, I’m starting to question the AI generated videos more and more as I go along. The voice/style usually is the giveaway, and – I agree – the lack of referencing. Perhaps this video was relying on the ‘reputation’ of the Ethiopian Bible as being quite old and trying to draw people to its tradition. There are so many western versions of the New Testament and this one is somewhat different. I’ve been exploring this a bit more over time.
Hi Lucia,
I managed to get my hands on an Ethiopian bible from a local community I found. I was a bit hesitant to buy a copy from Amazon. I will be having a closer look.
Hi Lucia (and Akira)
This post is a little long…bear with me…
I’ve been looking into the Ethiopian bible (and its origins) to find there are marked differences to it compared to other bibles. It contains a number of books that are not found in the usual or more known bibles. The historical information I have come across says that this version of the bible was translated into Greek (Septuagint) around 300-200BC from an older Hebrew or ancient Semitic language known as Ge’ez. I’ve even come across information that says that Jesus (possibly) used information from this version of the bible when speaking or quoting.
To verify or confirm some of the information I have come across, I thought to compare sections of the Ethiopian bible with those found in other bibles such as the Good News bible and the King James bible and at times compared the content using the Interlinear bible too. There seem to be points of difference, which could of course be down to translation, but also seem to alter the meaning slightly. This effect has been noted/made comment of, at various points and discussion pages here – I think back to the links referring to translations of The Book of Moses and how that differs greatly from regular bible editions with sections being excluded.
I’ve compared passages from the Old Testament (OT)- The Book of Zechariah and The Book of Malachi – and the New Testament (NT)– The book of Matthew and The Book of Mark – to compare sections with the Ethiopian Bible. There are interesting differences:
For example, in those 2 chapters by Zechariah and Malachi, The Ethiopian bible refers to God as ‘Yahweh of Armies’, whereas the King James bible refers to him as ‘Lord’ and the Good News Bible refers to him as ‘Almighty Lord’.
Passage 12 in Chapter 1 of Zechariah’s book:
Ethiopian – ‘Then Yahweh’s angel replied, “O Yahweh of Armies, how long will you not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which you have had indignation these seventy years?”’
King James – ‘Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?’
Good News – “Then the angel said “Almighty Lord, you have been angry with Jerusalem and the cities of Judah for 70 years now. How much longer will it be before you show them mercy?”
When looking at the prophesy made in The book of Zechariah regarding Jesus, referring to him as “The Future King”– chapter 9 of passage 9 – this is what each of the 3 bibles write:
Ethiopian – ‘Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you! He is righteous, and having salvation; lowly, and riding on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’
King James – ‘Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.’
Good News – ‘Rejoice, rejoice, people of Zion! Shout for joy you people of Jerusalem. Look, your king is coming to you! He comes triumphant and victorious, but humble and riding on a donkey – on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’
Even small changes to the text of The Gospel of Matthew and The Gospel of Mark, can read differently and alter the overall message or meaning between the 3 bible versions.
For example, passage 13 in chapter 3 in Matthew’s gospel says:
Ethiopian – ‘Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. But John would have hindered him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and you come to me?” But Jesus, answering, said to him, “Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed him.’
King James – ‘Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.’
Good News – ‘At that time, Jesus arrived from Galilee and came to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. But John tried to make him change his mind. “I ought to be baptized by you” said John, “and yet you have come to me!” But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so for now. For in this way we shall do all that God requires”. So John agreed’.
Biblegateway (online bible) – ‘Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 1But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented’.
In the Ethiopian bible, it is the OT that has the extra books, these being: The prayer of Manasses, The book of Jubilees or Little Genesis, The book of Enoch, The second book of Enoch or Slavonic Enoch or the Book of the secrets of Enoch. The index then returns to the regular books found in other versions of the OT before it continues with more books not found in the OT, these being – The first book of Esdras or Ezra Kali, the second book of Esdras or Ezra Satu’el, The book of Tobit, The book of Judit, The book of Ester (with an extra chapter titled Additions to Ester, from a Greek translation), Septuagint, The book of Meqabyan 1, 2 and 3 (which are not The book of Maccabee as is in other bibles), The Wisdom of Solomon, The wisdom of Jesus the son of Sirach (otherwise known as Ecclesiasticus), The book of Baruch, 4 Baruch or Paralipomena of Jeremiah (which are omitted parts/sections not found in regular bible copies, referring to Jerusalem being destroyed and people taken to Babylon), The song of the Three Holy Children or The Prayer of Azariah, The history of Susanna, Bel and the Dragon. The rest of the Books are the same as in the regular OT.
In the NT there is one extra book titled The first Epistle of Clement to the Corinthians, found at the very end. It seems to be a summary account of historical events from Cane and Abel, to Moses, and leading upto Jesus’ time.
Reading sections of the Ethiopian bible (that are not found in other bibles) reminded me of sections in The Kolbrin. The names of characters and places are different but the story line very similar. For instance, in The book of Jubilees, the story of Noah and his sons and how the land was divided between them. The description of mountains, rivers and valleys as defining boundaries between one land owner and another. There is reference to India, Euphrates River, the land of U/Ur, Ethiopia, Egypt, the old Steppe area, etc.
There is mention of a time when corruption and wickedness increased on earth and how there were different races – even giants – which needed to be cleansed or removed due to a growing evil or wickedness in them.
It even mentions incest as one of the wicked practices (or evil doing) particularly that between father and daughter and that of mother and son as being forbidden.
In The 2 books of Enoch, I am once again reminded of content found in The Kolbrin.
In The book of Tobit, there is mention of his account of events from the tribe of Naphtali, one of the 12. In the book of Judith, the account of people/tribes/regions/countries at war with each is given from this perspective.
So I started to wonder, if these accounts/events have been originally passed down from generation to generation orally, then written/documented by more than one person or cultural group and passed down onto us by more than one source of these events, this would account for the slight variations to the story line and also the differences in names of characters and locations, due to language and country/region. It would also account for the same story being told from different perspectives.
Overall, I found the Ethiopian bible contained more information that has been excluded by other bibles and is now surfacing for the general public – much like The Nag Hammadi Library, The Dead Sea scrolls, The Gospel of Judas, etc.
Wow, that sounds like a nice dive-in Dimi, thank you very much for sharing your findings! I haven’t really looked closer into it, so I appreciate your summary. It is good to know that the major difference seems to be in the number of the OT books, as I have wondered if maybe the Ethiopian Bible contained some unknown stories/teachings of Jesus, so its practical to know that it is not the case. Interesting about the “Yahweh of Armies”, who knows what that “God”/”Gods” really was/were… I was also pondering lately about why Jesus appeared specifically to the Jews and taught them, whether maybe they were most ready at that time to accept his teachings? He even seems to specifically avoid teaching or even healing the other tribes, like the famous story of the Canaanite woman shows:
Matthew 15:21–28
And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” And he answered, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed in that hour.
I felt really touched by this story when I first read it, as it seemed so tough to me that he was not allowed to teach or heal other tribes, and how that woman totally didnt care about any pride or being called “a dog”, she just begged for help which she knew with absolute certainty that Jesus could provide…
I agree with you Lucia. Why a specific tribe to share teachings with and why gentiles too? Were all the disciples of that specific tribe or varying tribes? And, does it all have to do with the location, surrounding areas to Jerusalem? It does seem there were groups of people or towniships/areas that were perhaps seen as being less than or shunned (eg Canaan, Samaria), but so were the Pharisees and Sadducees for their piety, pride, etc. If there were 12 tribes of Israel (or 13 as I’ve heard but can’t confirm), why this tribe? Was it Jesus’ lineage tribe?
Either way, I decided to look through the Ethiopian bible at Matthew’s Gospel in more detail and compare it with The Good News Bible and the King James Bible for variations. I found more differences; these seem to alter the message or meaning of Jesus’ words too.
For ease of reading, Jesus’ words are highlighted in red in the Ethiopian bible (which can be compared to the blue letter bible) in that it makes his words stand out. Other bible versions do this too.
Variations in translation continue to be found – for instance, the passage describing Jesus’ temptation or meeting with the devil in the desert, has distinct differences in the wording:
Ethiopian – ‘Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. He said to him, “I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’”
King James – ‘Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve”’.
Good News – ‘…then the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain…the devil said “all this I will give you if you if you kneel down and worship me” Then Jesus answered “Go away satan. The scripture says: worship the Lord your God and serve only him”.
I even came across passages where words are superimposed (added?) but it doesn’t seem to be part of the translation variation, altering the core message. For instance, Moses is added/mentioned in the Good News bible but not the Ethiopian or King James.
Ethiopian bible – “Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill. For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.
King James – “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled”.
Good News – “Do not think I have come to do away with the Law of Moses and the teachings of the prophets, I have not come to do away with them, but to make their teachings come true”.
So, further research is necessary to decipher what is the closest story about Jesus and his founding years. I guess more will be revealed in the new upcoming book – looking forward to it!
And, I still enjoy reading The Gospel of Peace for more of Jesus’ teachings too.
Hi Everyone,
I’ve come across more information on Jesus. It is a doco put together by Paul Wallis, on the missing years of Jesus.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5imgmomcgRo
It goes for 50 mins and has some pretty challenging content. It was only posted a few days ago…He poses questions such as did Jesus die on the cross? Were his missing years in Kashmir at various monasteries eg Hemis? Was he known by another name in foreign lands eg Issa? Are there written records of him to prove any claims? Paul refers to a book titled The Unknown life of Jesus, by Nicolas Notovitch, referring to records about Jesus’ missing years. He makes comment that there are various narratives of Jesus from those who have founded early Christianity but they were not his contemporaries, not directly with Jesus. He also suggests that the Christianity of old (which includes Gnostic writings, Thomas and the Nag Hammadi writings, etc), is very different, had a broader perspective, compared to the Christianity of today, where the stories/narratives have changed over time and have possibly become too narrow. He states his perspective that we are beings of consciousness that come into the material/physical world with the aim of returning to the Pleroma (or Source) as a being of consciousness again – as though completing a cycle. He wants to remind of the various other Christian narratives that have been there from early times, and that the mainstream religions have over time created a power ploy.
I’m still looking forward to the information on Jesus that Lara and Mark have discovered.
Thanks Dimi,
I had a brief look at the video, but also at other content on that YouTube channel.
For me Ai imagery can give nice artistic visuals, and Ai voice is convenient, but when the content/script itself is also Ai generated, and when there are no references given at all – then, even with good intentions, it eventually weakens foundations of truth. Like that channel with fake generated NDE’s.
A thing that happens for example is that two bits of info are blended and made to support one thing.
A question is also what sources are used (what Ai drew from the general knowlege on the internet currently, but then it’s limited to that. Whereas real research can move things forward in new areas.)
I’m personally very interested in uncovering lost African spirituality and history. And (a bit like mentioned in relation to Japan where many feel there is something) there is a desire for it, but it’s essential to base it on reality and not wishfully generating it.
Just thought to mention that.
In terms of the lost years of Jesus I also stumbled across an early 20th century ‘account’ a few months back, not sure how reliable it is, but it was an interesting read.
I wish everyone Peace, Light, and Love! May the light of the Spiritual Sun and the Solstice shine and help us through the next months and humanity.
Lara, thank you for your update. I’m looking forward to it and studying your books close to a spiritual place around the UK, as I love to do with my breaks, is a true inspiration :))
Lara, Mark and the team in the background, you have my love and support
Belated solstice wishes everyone! Hope everyone did even a small something, or felt stopped in their tracks in some way from a connection to the solstice sun. It’s always wonderful to reconnect to the beautiful story of awakening the sun provides us right above our heads. Alex and I went to find the sunrise at local view points over the solstice. We were blessed with beautiful weather and an actual view of the sun. We sat in fields of long summer grass and saw the sweetest young deer one morning, it almost seemed like it was dancing around for us in pure joy. Its little antlers looked like a crown and I’m sure I caught a glimpse of fairies riding on its back!
Great to hear all the updates, thank you, Lara!
This year’s celebrations felt like fulfilling a duty, something urgent given the current state of the world and ongoing conflicts. It felt as though, in this challenging era we live in, the Light force has a crucial role to play, but it must be invited and actively applied.
Thanks everyone, wishing you all the best!
Blessed solstice to everyone.
How accurate is the deepening part of your title, Lara.
Thank you so much for the exciting updates and for your continuous effort and dedication in designing how you want to re-present The Religion of the Sun to the World. I recently started reading your book again, and the Jesus chapter is what I always read first. This time around, I’ve been feeling your book as a fairy tale that tells the story of humanity. I think I didn’t appreciate it this much before. Your book is a massive achievement, an incredible work of research presented in digestible writing, and it feels very light and warming; an invaluable gift to humanity. I look forward to the updated version whenever it arrives, as well as the other books and updates.
I also have to extend my gratitude to everyone who gave me words of encouragement in my previous comments. I really needed it, and it has helped me put into perspective my way of living in what has been a difficult struggle in trying to get back up. You guys are amazing.
Lastly, but not least, I extend my prayers and blessings to Michael. I wish from the bottom of my heart that you are recovering and can participate in these discussions with your unique energy soon. May the light of The Sacred Sun shine over you, bringing you healing and solace.
God bless.
Wishing everyone much peace and light during this Solstice time. I hope everyone has had the opportunity to take time out to focus on the Solstice and that you receive whatever it is that you most need from it.
Lara, I similarly find that the events of the season start to make more sense at these times and the lessons learned come into focus. Thanks very much for the updates, and for all that you and Mark are doing. I look forward to reading the revised books and to the new ones to come. I wish you both all the best as you continue your work on these life-changing books.
This Winter Solstice has been an interesting one for me. Work has been very chaotic and it’s been a real challenge to try and salvage what energies I can from the day to be put towards practices in the evening. I have the good fortune to be able to work from home so at the end of each day I usually went straight into the forest at the end of my street and tried to soak in as much of these mystical energies as possible. Spending these late afternoons/early evenings in the forest during sunset has been a real joy for me and it really felt like a much needed nourishment after so much intellectual work through the day. The forest (or bush in Australia) has a very mystical feeling at this time of day. I usually had the company of local wildlife including the beautiful song of the Currawong to share the sunset with.
In the days leading up to the Solstice, I regret that my focus was not what it should or could have been. Unfortunately I was often distracted with global events which caused a lot of sadness and emotional turmoil, especially when I heard the terrible news of the recent attacks in West Asia. At times I was able to separate myself from these emotions but there were definitely times where I found myself immersed in terrible lower emotions of fear and rage.
The morning of the Solstice was a special one and I was fortunate enough to be able to experience a beautiful sunrise. It felt like a magical fire was ingited within a freezing fog (https://drive.proton.me/urls/HPVV2K2R20#PZvqXVg2oo4w).
I hope that I’ll be able to better prepare myself inwardly for the next solar celebration in Spring.
Wishing everyone a beautiful and magical time!
Hi Owain,
Thank you very much for sharing those beautiful pictures, the sun really looks amazing there! The bush is definitely a different landscape we are used to here (central Europe), it has a very mystical atmosphere on those pictures indeed (I saved it if you don’t mind!).
Here is a picture of our sunrise this year, the clouds were hanging so low and covering the whole sky, that I was afraid we won’t see anything, but in the end we did see a beautiful, golden shiny orb rising through a tiny cloud-free space at the bottom, but very soon, it hid behind the clouds that were hanging above it. I was thinking that it was almost a metaphor of what’s happening in the world today, with the beautiful, big and shiny Sun (of these teachings) rising, but some thick clouds hanging above it (the dangerous war-like situation that’s threatening whole world).

Hi Lucia,
Thanks for sharing your sunrise photos from central europe. It looks like a very beautiful place to live and commune with the Divine through nature. Those pine forests must have a very mystical feeling to them.
Wishing everyone a wonderful spiritual solstice ☀️
Thank you Lara for the update – they are really great news ✨
Thanks everyone for keeping the knowledge about the Light alive !
All the very best to all here through the Solstice. Strength esspecially to those in the southern part of the world during the winter solstice that you may grow your connection to the divine and apply this re-emerging ancient wisdom. Thank you Lara & Mark and all those that help nurture this.
Thank you Lara for your wishes!!
I also wish everyone a very inspiring solstice with a deep impact on the soul!!
I also wish Peace to everyone and everywhere in the world, in these difficult times!!
Lara, it’s astonishing for me how many books you, Mark and your team work on!! It’s a tremendous task!! I wish you all the best and strength!!
The site “the Religion of The Sun” is very good, helpful and inspiring!! I loved the questions and the answers!! So, I can understand deeper what is the point and the overall of “the Religion of The Sun”
It answers some questions that I haven’t posed to myself and it is astonishing and welcomed itself!!
Thank you very much!
Thanks, Lara! I also wish you, Mark and everyone here a powerful moment of stillness that leads to a deeper connection with the source.
It’s interesting how many people have reported on having gone or are going through difficulties at this time. I’m also just coming out of a really tough boot camp (that’s the only way I could understand what’s been happening). And it’s in relation to the toughness of having to deal with the physical body and still grasping for clarity at the same time. It reminded me of the symbolism of this time here in the northern hemisphere where the sun is at its highest level above us, above the physical, being able to shine brighter than before as it has risen above the physical matter (the body) and entering the selfless constellation of cancer.
Just like us here, when we’re able to rise above our physical circumstances we are able to shine brighter for the world. That’s been the theme of this heavy training for me. And indeed it brought me to a deeper understanding of the importance of practising conscious suffering. It may seem a bit insensitive given the current circumstances but that’s been my lesson for this time and I wanted to share it as maybe someone else could relate to it.
It’s a beautiful way of putting it Tina. “Rising above our circumstances….to shine brighter for the world”. It’s amazing to think that when we are struggling, what we overcome, can not only impact and change the environment and our outlook, but also becomes an addition of light in this world, especially in these dark and heavy times. At the very least (and best) we have light accompanying us, even if it’s a gentle breeze of hope, amid the pouring storm.
I do hope your circumstances have eased up, and you are able to cope better physically and gain the clarity you are after. Happy solstice :)
Thanks, Olga for your wishes.
I’m better now and learning to preserve patience as healing takes time. Quite few miracles already happened and the guidance is nothing what I had before.
The feeling of gratitude is overwhelming sometimes..
That sounds wonderful Tina about the miracles and guidance.,, 💖
Wishing you a continuous improvement in your health situation!
BTW, speaking of miracles and spiritual assistance, I have recently witnessed a beautiful “solstice miracle” that my friend (who is also interested in the Religion of the Sun) received over the solstice in the form of a very clear Divine guidance, which really warmed my heart, as I wished her for a long time some help with this, but could not imagine how…
The Divine is real, if we put some sincere efforts in… Also, it seems to always come unexpectedly. 🌞
Thanks, Lucia!
Its really nice to read about your friend that has received the divine guidance, and even more so that it happened at the Solstice time. Im also very pleased for her. She definitely made an impact on my life by just being who she is.
I wish her much divine connection, inspiration and wisdom in her movement towards the spiritual sun!
Tina, I am so happy to hear you are better and filled with gratitude for the miracles you’ve received🩷How special to read your experience, it gives me goosebumps knowing you were helped in such a positive and uplifting way.
Thank you also both, Lucia and Tina for the reminder towards the gift of divine guidance. How incredible it would be to lock in this relationship into our everyday life. When I am not sure where to start, I know gratitude is a good place.
Happy solstice! Hope everyone is having a nice and peaceful time. Thanks for the updates, Lara.
Have a blessed Solstice everyone! 💛🙏💜
A deepening, yes it does feel like that, like things I’ve been experiencing come to a head. Reflecting on the last months, things that were nebulous and hidden are becoming more clear, just as the light reaches it’s maximum, and the start of something new stretches ahead. Much of it has been around job stuff, which has been particularly intense of late, but also learning to run my own business, make time for it, and understand its purpose in my life.
I was sitting in the garden earlier today, all kinds of life around, bugs, birds, billions of cells in my own body seemingly alive… it felt strange to be separate from that, as if I’m in a little bubble unable to touch the beings around me, just a tiny sliver of consciousness cut off from life. I’ve been thinking about the source, something you’ve brought up often more recently, as well as something that shows up in OBEs quite often. How do you think one can go about connecting with the source? How does one connect with life itself, with something much larger than the words that describe it? Being in the moment? Prayer? It’s something I’d like to learn and understand better.
I got a bit of an answer to my own question. For several nights I’ve used it as my dream incubation question, and I was given a very simple image (probably because I was tired and wouldn’t remember much :) )
It was myself connected to 4 other things by something like ribbons, and I and the things were something like points of light. 4 being the material world, I understood it to mean arranging things in the material world to orient around the source/spiritual. Watching the sunset today with a friend, I realized the 2nd part of it that I initially missed…
Some weeks ago I had a dream of “the 4 things to do to fail in any endeavor”, the implication being that if you don’t do them, you might succeed. Unfortunately I didn’t remember them, so I set about figuring out what they were, and I came up with: “1. no goal, 2. no priority, 3. no plan, 4. no action”.
What dawned on me as I watched the sunset was that the 4 things also had to do with this, in other words, having a goal, priorities, plan, and actions around connecting with the source.
Some things are so simple and easily seen in hindsight. If anyone told me this, I’d say “well that’s very obvious!,” and yet it takes a lot to even be able to ask the right question. I often wonder how much is right in front of my face if I could only see it. I hope I get better at seeing those things!
Sorry about the delay in responding to your question Julian! I’ve been meaning to get back to you.
There will be practices for connecting with the Source (within the cosmos, oneself and all beings) in the upcoming books. A simple, but no less profound, version of it is in the updated edition of Ancient Solstice, which is the next book to come out, and is going through editing at the moment. The practices are amazing and I can’t wait for everyone to have them!
I’ve found the main key to developing and deepening the sense of connection to Source, is consistency. Going out every sunrise (unless the weather is too bad). It’s like a “tuning” takes place, and I start to gradually feel more and more attuned to the Source and its presence in all beings and nature.
I’ve found consistency is also key to the OBE practices in the Spiritual OBE book, as doing them over and over, I really start to get into the “feeling” of them. Some of those are very much about connecting with the Source through the sun.
I was just thinking about this, and have started doing regular visualization practices, in order to gradually build up its power. I also noticed there is at least one practice in the astral book for connecting to the source (“Sun Heart”), so I’m going to start there.
I love hearing hints about what’s in the new books and editions, I can’t wait to read them! Much gratitude for taking the time to respond here, and for the new books :)
I really like the Mountain Peak Energy visualisation practice in the Spiritual OBEs book too which also has a section where you visualize the sun connecting with your consciousness and energising you. It’s interesting how dynamic that practice is in terms of how the visualisation progresses according to your inner state.
I haven’t tried the Sun Heart practice yet, but it’s on the list! :)
I think I have mentioned before that- simply being out in the morning sun (each day), letting its light bathe over me, concentrating on its energy, just the feeling of it surrounding me and saying a morning prayer to it seems to switch on my heart. It also seems to create this focus deep in my brain.
Happy Solstice Mark and Lara and Everyone, Thanks for the Updates on how the books are coming along.
Hope the Light from the Spiritual Sun gives all much Inspiration and Strength.
Thanks Lara – wishing you, Mark, and everyone reading this a peaceful and reflective solstice and all the best in the coming quarter.

Wishing everyone a wonderful solstice time on behalf of the Sura Ondrunar Publishing team, and we hope it brings everyone much joy and spiritual inspiration. We also want to acknowledge all the people who donate to and support us, especially over the last 3 months. This support helps us to continue doing the ongoing administrative and legal work of publishing behind the scenes, and as Lara mentioned we’ve also started work on planning a major overhaul of the religionofthesun.com website. Thank you for all the generosity, we really appreciate it
Dear Mark and Lara, thank you for your continuous work to bring more light of a genuine spirituality to the world, looking forward to your new works and the development of this project of reviving the ancient Solar Religion.
Have a wonderful solstice time!
@Michael I read about you being unwell, may you recover well and soon, it is all in God’s hands, our power is vital yet finite, the Divine force is not always there, yet unlimited.
Happy Solstice Time, everyone!
It’s curious that this time of year (summer solstice here in the USA) can be so uplifting. In an initially subtle (couple of weeks back), but now quite tangible way, I’ve felt more and more inner strength and inspiration and remembrance of the “great goal shining upon us,” as you put it, Lara. I hope the light of the Sun blesses and gives strength to everyone!
Thanks for the update, Lara. I wish you, Mark, and the team all the best in the new books and projects!
Happy Solstice everyone!
Thank you Lara and Mark and the team at Sakro Sawel for making it possible to connect on this platform, in this special way.
May this solstice make it possible to deepen our spiritual connection with the Source, the spiritual sun, with our Being; and may it bring deeper insights and understanding
Lots of projects underway Lara. Lots’ to look forward to. Thank you for the update
Thank you Dimi. Nicely put “May this solstice make it possible to deepen our spiritual connection with the Source, the spiritual sun, with our Being.” I really feel in many ways that that’s what these times can be for.
Thank you for your message Lara, it really invoked a feeling of inspiration for me, especially reading about your planned updates and the work on the website! I have been checking that website here and there, if by chance something didn’t move there 😉. Now it seems to me that if something does move there, it will be a big move!
Wishing both you and Mark a lot of strength in the important and groundbreaking work you are carrying out for humanity, and beautiful solstice time to you and everyone here. 🌞
Thank you Lara, wishing you and Mark, and everyone in this beautiful community a loving and inwardly strengthening solstice. Its an amazing thing to deepen our experience, and always find the new in things we thought we knew. Like a babe grasping and absorbing the miracles of life for the first time.
Happy Solstice! I can feel the power of the Summer Solstice. It feels like an intense light is burning through me and exposing hidden shadows. I have been given the opportunity to see what I haven’t seen before and I’m very grateful to the Sun for this even though it is painful. I’m fortunate to live near Aztalan and the site brings a lot of peace to my restless mind. I look forward to the books and videos and I’m grateful for all that you have published already.
Thank you Lara for your wishes and for the update.
Reminding and highlighting the deeper meaning of this spriritual and powerful event of the year, gives strength and encourages me. deeply.
Wishing you, Mark and everyone a magical and unique Silistice.
May the light of the Sun, at these sacred times, guide everyone towards the source.

Thanks a lot Lara. It’s exciting to know that big updates and new books are on the way.
Wishing you and Mark a time of great light, peace and rejuvenation, to give you strength for the work that is ahead.
May we all feel the light of the Sun deep within us, to give each of us whatever we need at this time, to move closer towards the source.
May souls in the world that lost their way find it back to the light of the sun, through its great mercy, at this solstice time. May the religion of the sun bring back that lost hope and reach many.
Happy solstice!
